The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 in 18 ct yellow gold features a red ombré dial, diamond-set dial and a President bracelet .
OMBRÉ RED DIAL
Continuity of a design
The ombré dark grey dial features a coloured centre that gradually fades to a deep black on the edges. This dial style represents continuity with a design that Rolex introduced in the 1980s and returned to in 2019.
The production of these dials with concentric gradients involves the application of black lacquer – a sophisticated technique overseen by a specialist whose job is to ensure a harmonious transition of colour to gradually darkening tones.
FADE RIMS
Rolex Signature Mark
The Rolex fluting is a mark of distinction. Originally, the fluting on the Oyster bezel was designed to make it easier to fit the bezel onto the case, ensuring the watch’s absolute waterproofness.
The design is similar to the notch on the caseback, which is screwed down to the case for waterproofness using a special Rolex tool. Over time, the notch has become a highly aesthetic detail, worthy of being a distinctive Rolex style element. Today, the notch is made of gold and has become a distinctive feature of this Datejust 31 model.
18 CT GOLD
Committed to Excellence
Thanks to its own foundry, Rolex is able to cast the highest quality 18 ct gold alloys. In proportions of silver, copper, platinum or palladium, Rolex produces 18 ct gold: yellow, rose or white gold.
They are made from the purest metals and meticulously tested in an in-house laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment, before the gold is shaped and crafted with the utmost care and quality. Rolex’s commitment to excellence begins with the raw materials.
PRESIDENT STRAP
The ultimate sophistication
The design, development and production of Rolex bracelets and clasps, as well as the rigorous tests they face, require the application of high technology.
And with every part of the watch, aesthetics are guaranteed by an expert eye. The President bracelet with its three-piece semi-circular links was created in 1956 for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date. This bracelet represents sophistication and comfort, always made of carefully selected precious metals. Shell model
